Tri-State Vein is your complete varicose vein treatment center. The center opened January 2011, but Dr. Jenkins has been serving the tri-state area for the past 16 years.

General Information

Approximately 25 million people in the United States suffer from superficial venous reflux disease. Traditionally, patients diagnosed with venous reflux would undergo vein stripping surgery. Now, patients can be treated with a minimally invasive and more comfortable alternative to painful vein stripping surgery.

Staff

Joseph T. Jenkins, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Jenkins, a native of Dubuque, attended the University of Iowa, School of Medicine earning his MD in 1984. His first year of surgical training was completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. For the next 3 years he was a general medical officer in Darmstadt, Germany. In 1988, he returned to the University of Iowa to complete a residency in general surgery. Dr. Jenkins spent the following year fulfilling his military obligation at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. In July 1994, he returned to Dubuque and practiced as a general surgeon with Dubuque Surgery, PC.

On January 3, 2011, Dr. Jenkins opened the Tri-State Vein Center, PC. His practice is now limited to treatment of patients with varicose veins and venous reflux. He also continues to provide surgical care for individuals needing hemodialysis access due to kidney failure.

Tri-State Vein Center, P.C., located in Dubuque, Iowa, has been granted a three-year term of accreditation in Vascular Testing in the areas of Peripheral Venous Testing by the Inter-societal Accreditation Commission.

Accreditation by the commission means the center has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The commission grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive case study review.
